Cologne-Bonn Airport – Fire Detection in Underground Traffic Facilities

LIOS Technology equipped, in collaboration with Siemens BT, the entire airport facilities with highly reliable Linear Heat Detection (LHD) Systems to protect the Metro station with its tunnels for the high speed train ICE (Inter City Express), all intermediate ceilings, parking decks, bus stations and the waiting halls of the airport.

At present an impressive share of more than 90 % of the Croatian road tunnels are equipped with the fibre optic fire detection system by LIOS Technology. In 28 tunnels with in total 55 tunnel tubes the purely passive LIOS fibre optic line sensor cable has been installed by Tehnomobil for reliable and fast fire detection.

Fire Detection at Floating Roof Tanks by fiber optic linear heat detection

Floating roof tanks are used for the storage of liquid educts and products containing hydrocarbons and originating from petroleum refining and/or petroleum distillation. The essential feature of this type of storage tank is the pontoon roofs which “float” on the stored product and hence also at a low filling level guarantee a storage space with the lowest gas volume.
